The quality assurance system is based on
statistical quality control methods. All products are tested in
accordance with IEC 410/IEC 414 sampling plan to ensure an acceptable
Average Quality Level (AQL) for major and minor defects.
A brief
review of defect categories & AQL is presented below:
Classification
of defects:
Major defects: These defects lead to a malfunction of the
finished wound components. Cosmo lot acceptance criteria permits
0.4 AQL for major defects.
Minor defects: These defects do not have a severe effect
on the function of wound component. Often they have a negative
effect on the visual appearance of the end product.
Cosmo lot acceptance criteria permit 0.4 AQL for minor defects.
