In ferrite plates, the energy losses are largely dependent on ambient temperature. The standard materials produce low losses at 100°C temperatures. On the other hand, there are higher losses at room temperature.
But the energy loss characteristics are in the favourable zone. The energy is transmitted efficiently at both room temperature & at higher temperature (100°C). This is why the plates are suitable for both cold & hot weather.
